[POR] Nos moldes da Comédie Française, entre as linhas clássicas e a decoração majoritariamente barroca, com materiais estrangeiros tais como mármores italianos e vitrais alemães, o Theatro Municipal desta cidade foi inaugurado em 1909 para privilegiar a companhia teatral nacional. [ING] Along the lines of the Comédie Française, between the classical lines and the baroque decoration (mostly), with foreign materials such as the italian marble and the german stained glasses, the Municipal Theater of this city was opened in 1909 to focus on the national theater. [POR] As 14 colunas principais possuem o estilo de ordem coríntia, a mais ornamentada das três ordens arquitetônicas gregas.

[POR] Nas fachadas laterais, há quatro figuras de atlantes, em bronze, como se fossem cariátides, representando as estações do ano. Os elementos decorativos (curvas, molduras das janelas remetem a  art noveau.
